Background and History

Utica College was founded in 1946 by Syracuse University. It is a financially independent institution based in the state of New York offering the Syracuse University baccalaureate degree and UC master's and doctoral degrees. The institution also offers a worldwide online program. Utica College strives to maintain its mission in preparing students for rewarding careers, liberal and professional studies, community involvement, and application of lifelong learning. U.S News & World Report magazine named Utica College number 12 overall and number 8 in best value among undergraduate comprehensive colleges in the North in America's Best Colleges in 2004. Online bachelor degree programs offered through Utica College are in the areas of cybercrime and information assurance, and economic crime investigation.

Accreditation and Job Placement

Utica College is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSCHE). The MSCHE is a voluntary, non-governmental, membership association founded in 1887 as a regional accrediting body. Financial aid is available for those who qualify. Job placement (according to a recent alumni survey) at Utica College shows 95% of graduates are employed or continue their education within six months of graduation.
