Background and History
Jacksonville University, or JU, was established over 70 years ago, in Jacksonville, Florida. The university boasts alumni numbers of more than 18,000 from 44 states and 55 foreign countries. JU has a nationally recognized faculty for various awards such as the Carnegie Foundation Award, Council for the Advancement and Support of Education Award, and the American Council on Education Award. Jacksonville University was also listed by US News & World Report as one of “Americas Best Colleges” in 2007 for the third consecutive year. Not only is Jacksonville University one of the nation’s best teaching institutions, but it also offers one of the country’s largest 100% online RN to BSN degree programs. JU’s online RN to BSN program allows the student to participate in online streaming video lectures while maintaining interaction with classmates and faculty through chat rooms, message boards, and email.
Accreditation and Job Placement
Jacksonville University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The nursing school is also accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). Financial aid is available for those who qualify. Job placement is not posted.
