The Delaware Higher Education Office offers postsecondary education and financial aid opportunities in the state of Delaware. It oversees campaigns such as the Yes YOU Can! initiative to support higher education and student success in Delaware. The state is also a member of the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB).

In 1998, the SREB launched the Electronic Campus, which offers adult and online college information and serves as an electronic market place for the South’s colleges and universities. The Electronic Campus also offers a regional mentor system, student access programs and services, and a collection of electronic campus publications. Strayer University, a four-year, private, for-profit institution, operates a campus in Wilmington, Del. University of Delaware

The University of Delaware offers a registered nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing program online. The nursing program requires the completion of 120 credits of course work offered online. UD Online offers its course work through the Sakai learning management system. Course format depends on the individual course, but most courses are delivered through video-streamed class lectures, video clips, audio components, readings, discussion boards, and interactive web activities. UD Online courses are taught by the UD campus nursing faculty, all of whom possess at least a master’s degree, if not a doctorate.
