Western International University, or WIU, was established as a non-profit institution in 1978 in Phoenix, Arizona. Presently, WIU is a part of the Apollo Group, Inc., and is a for-profit corporation. Western International University operates 5 campuses in the United States, 2 international campuses, and an interactive online program. The mission of WIU is to prepare students for leadership by providing a broad educational foundation with a focus on business and technology. Western International University was also named one of America's Best Colleges 2007 by U.S. News & World Report Magazine.
