University of Cincinnati Bachelor Degrees

Background and History

The University of Cincinnati, or UC, was founded in 1819 when Cincinnati College and the Medical College of Ohio were chartered. About 50 years later, the City of Cincinnati established both schools as the University of Cincinnati. UC is classified by the Carnegie Commission as a Research University and is ranked as one of America’s Top 25 public research universities. The University of Cincinnati is also ranked as one of the top 100 public universities in the nation by U.S. News & World Report magazine (each program is also individually ranked by the magazine). UC believes in providing quality learning with excellent faculty and a system designed to serve diversity in the student body. Bachelor degrees online offered through the University of Cincinnati are in the areas of addiction studies, clinical laboratory science, early childhood education, fire science technology, and health information management.

Accreditation and Job Placement

The University of Cincinnati is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA). The Higher Learning Commission is recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education and is a member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Financial aid is available for those who qualify. Job placement is not guaranteed, and the numbers vary in each program. Career services available to both students and alumni of UC are provided through the Career Development Center and include internships, career fairs, career development, career exploration, career counseling, resume/cover letter writing, and career services resources/reference material.
