Background and History
Saint Leo University, or SLU, was founded in 1889 in Florida as the first catholic college in that state. Throughout the institution's history, Saint Leo grew in campus locations and degree programs. Today, SLU operates 16 main campuses and one online division. Saint Leo is also considered one of the largest providers of higher education to military personnel with many degree programs offered on various military bases. St Leo is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
