Background and History
Marylhurst University was founded in 1893 in Oregon by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. Marylhurst is a liberal arts Catholic university offering both campus-based and online programs. Marylhurst University is dedicated to providing quality education through student-centered attention, small classes, prior learning assessments, and distance learning options. This university is also proudly involved with community activities. US News & World Report magazine listed Marylhurst University as one of “America’s Best Colleges 2007″ for the seventh consecutive year. Marylhurst has also achieved awards through the Council for Adult & Experiential Learning. Bachelor degree programs offered online through Marylhurst are in the areas of business and leadership, interdisciplinary studies, and real estate studies.
