Background and History

Grand Canyon University, founded in 1949, is a non-denominational Christian institution based in Phoenix, Arizona. The university was originally founded as a nonprofit college by Arizona Southern Baptist that felt the need for a faith-based school in the west. Grand Canyon University Online began in 2000 and offers the same high-quality education as the Phoenix campus. Accreditation and Job Placement

Grand Canyon University Online is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA). The Higher Learning Commission is recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education and is a member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Financial aid is available for those who qualify. Job placement rates are not posted.
